Digital Appointments at OPT
Oceanside Physical Therapy is excited to be able to offer telemedicine appointments to our patients. Digital appointments are conducted via an online portal called Coviu that allows you to share video with your therapist, as well as forms, questionnaires, and documents in a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform.
WHY SCHEDULE A DIGITAL APPOINTMENT?
Telemedicine services are supported by the American Physical Therapy Association as ”an appropriate model of service delivery for the profession of physical therapy when provided in a manner consistent with association positions, standards, guidelines, policies, procedures, Standards of Practice for Physical Therapy, Code of Ethics for the Physical Therapist, Standards of Ethical Conduct for the Physical Therapist Assistant, the Guide to Physical Therapy.”
Digital appointments can be a great solution for patients who have difficulty scheduling in-person sessions, in the event of inclement weather, or for check-ins while out of town.
Scheduling and payment will be handled by the front desk as for in-person appointments. New patients will receive intake paperwork and consent forms by email. Paperwork can either be returned by email or fax, or uploaded directly through Coviu at the time of the appointment.
Please contact the office at 603-580-4494 for more information and scheduling.
We always encourage patients to verify their benefits and referral requirements for all services provided by Oceanside Physical Therapy prior to their first appointment. In the event that services are not covered, or we do not participate with your insurance, our self-pay rates are as follows:
60 minute Physical Therapy Evaluation: $125
30 minute Physical Therapy Follow Up: $60
Included at no additional cost as part of a Physical Therapy Evaluation:
Preliminary Benefit Check/Financial Plan: 30 min. $50
Discovery Call: $20, 10-15 minutes. *Optional
Email/Text access for follow-up questions: $27/15 min
INSURANCE AND LEGAL INFORMATION
In many cases, telemedicine appointments can be covered by insurance similar to how in-person visits are covered. However, there are exceptions and the laws surrounding teletmedicine are changing regularly. Currently we are not able to offer telemedicine services to patients covered by federal programs such as Medicare.
For other insurance providers, New Hampshire state law says insurers may not deny coverage for services on the sole basis that the coverage is provided through telemedicine if the health care service would be covered if it were provided through in-person consultation between the covered person and a health care provider. *Source
